What is Seebox?

Problem-solving abilities cannot be taught from a book or by passively watching videos. It must be practised until you become good at it.  Seebox is a powerful electronics console that teaches learners about electronic engineering with videos and practical experiments.  It was designed to engage the learner and measure their progress solving problems.

How Seebox works

  • Learners, young and old, watch entertaining animated videos to learn about concepts in electronics.
  • They then use that knowledge to progress through the “game”, doing real practical experiments with electronics, using PC boards and components, called Playboards.
  • Seebox measures what they do and, based on the outcome of the experiment, they proceed to the next level or they must try again.
  • The aim is for the student to gain real practical understanding, not just theoretical knowledge, and all while having fun.  Seebox is suitable for learners from the age of 12 to 100.
  • No knowledgeable electronics teacher is needed, Seebox is based on self-paced experiential learning.

Seebox’s Impact

Seebox seeks to address the worldwide shortage of engineers by introducing children to electronics from a young age.  Africa lags behind in the training of engineers and the Seebox offers a technological solution to this.  It has huge potential for alleviating the growing international technology workers shortage.  We want to change the way children are taught electronics because the existing methods are not producing enough professionals.
